Does lichess expose an API which allows another site to pass player names and game parameters so that a game can be launched without needing to explicitly log in and select game parameters? This would be a cool feature for chess clubs. The embedding works, but that's a redirect to the entire site. A streamlined way to start a game given that names and game parameters are already known would be ideal.

But then players must go to lichess to play the game anyway?

Your point is?
(You do realise that was the creator of the site you just replied to...?)
It sounds like the OP would like for a way of formally starting games between players as part of an external competition or tournament that is actually played out on Lichess.

Thanks Baron. I thought I said that, but maybe when worded differently by another person it clicks. And yes, I do know who the site creator is. Since he makes lichess available for embedding on other sites and also exposes an API I don't understand his question. If you look at the API it seems like remote users could login by token passing. A working example of such a connection sequence would be most helpful.

I'm thinking chess clubs (with DGT or similar boards) could have fun with Lichess broadcasts, although nobody has such boards and relaying games is a difficult problem.

Nobody said anything about broadcasts. That is not an objective of me nor my chess club.

So your club wants to play games, authenticating both players (or teams of players) in a game, playing using move validation and a game clock located in France...?

Maybe the thing op is looking for is lichess private tournament feature but with different pairing system? (Just guessing.)
