Aborting too many games may result in a temporary ban

What the hell does "Aborting too many games will result in a temporary ban" mean. Taken literally, it means there's a fixed amount of aborts that will result in a temporary ban, when in reality it probably means relative to the amount of games not aborted. Sounds like a lame scare tactic to me.

This would be nice to know. I just got this warning because I lost the connection and then server aborted the game while I tried to repeat my move (sorry, KARIM12l, it was probably your game anyway after my bad opening). Now I have been warned, but what does it mean in practice?

It means if you abort too many games you get a temporary ban. This is perfectly clear, and the reason for it is obvious, and people do get bans for it so it's not just to scare you - it's backed up with punishment. The exact number of aborts and the precise time period used don't seem to be very relevant, and in any event could change.

I think these should change and be more strict. There are players who are aborting regularly and don't seem to get punished as long as they play a couple games in between.

The most annoying ones are those who want always play on whites. So if you challenge them to rematch after you playing blacks, they abort the game and challenge to a rematch again to get the white pieces. Maybe something like three aborted games in a row would result a short ban. At least it would be clear rules then.

I was playing and I lost the connection and then server aborted my game. I just got this warning because of my server not me i shouldn't get a temporary ban for this . And also I have just aborted 4 games

@JaiminChudasama_23 You're suggesting that users who get disconnected from the server should not be subject to the usual warnings/punishment for aborting games? I'm not sure you have thought this through. What would stop someone who wanted to abort a game without punishment from disconnecting instead of aborting?

I also sometimes abort games, but mostly if I have accidentally clicked on a match in the lobby. I get the warning and it is usually not a big deal, just don't do it quite often :D
