why many people hates london system

so rages. and all the rage. i knew there were some aesthetics running around....
"london system is for gays"

Isn't that in some way homophobic?

I am surprised that such a statement is permitted in today's politically correct world. Nor was I aware that there actually was any connection between one's opening preference and one's sexual preference.

Of course I can be wrong, because I can only see this from my personal perspective; but I think that if the LS wasn't played so much, it wouldn't be so hated. Apart from some strange/absurd reasons, probably the prevailing reason is that most players don't appreciate slow and maneuvered play ( or don't know how to handle it well, as in my case ), and if in addition opponents almost always propose the LS after 1.d4, a certain antipathy can arise.
Here's what to do against the London System:

Yes, you play the King's Indian. ("But Nisko, I play 1...d5", well... tough luck.)

How is a posting like that even allowed here?
Because they're too lazy to look up a response to it with black.

narrating direct style. might explain the first post being acceptable. I deleted a long explanation of being able to use context and voice attribution is judging if something is promoting what we would like to prevent the promotion of, if expecting such prevention. but here.. short post. seems the norm in thought processes these days anyway.

I admit I also upon fast read, delayed on the words "is for gays". but then the preceding words give clues to the exact context. I do not know other posts from op to be able to infer anything else than that short string of a post provides.

More than one sample point needed to make such call.

I think it might be all robust systems. The problem might not be the amount of diversity in consequent positions.
The problem might be that knowing the best line is not the only advantage in playing them.
That someone without such best move long sequence preparation approach but with some positional understanding and intuition based on position at hand perception and clues could survive to equivalent depths.

The london system being the best known recently because of trends from high places perhaps. But i would bet the hate would extend to all systems... if i understand the meaning** of systems..

** Doubt: the problem with that, might be that the popularity of the word system might spill over to other repertoires in need of renaming. or newly discovered candidate better play in existing repertoires, might be tempted to propose them as systems to hitch a ride on that word. Is that possible?
