I disagree. Recognizing mating patterns is extremely useful for tactical calculation in puzzles and games. Knowing the name of the patterns is helpful in this regard.
It is a rather rare mating pattern called The Swallows Tail and happens a little bit more often then its cousin mating motif, The Epaulette, except the ST needs a guard for the Queen.
