What is the highest number of moves played in a game on lichess?

It seems like lichess allows 300 move and then calls the game a draw.
You can go to tools => advanced search and then select ‘number of turns’ from 300 and you will find lots of amusing 300 move games.
My longest was 110 and it ended in a 50 move draw.

Yeah, its 300. due to people making accounts to sandbag/boost or them just trying to play (themselves) the longest game ever

my longest was a 149 move game. it was a OTB match with a 1900 and we drew on the 50 move rule. longest online games was like 120 or something

does the game end at 300 moves? I thought it just stopped recording the moves, I didn't realise the game stopped as well.

it's about 5000 moves short of the longest possible legal game.

What makes the longest possible legal game? Does the three move draw rule come into play as the same position was reached in move 1000, 3000, then 5299?

I think it's mainly the 50 move rule that limits the game's length, although the 3 fold repetition would need to be avoided, too.
I couldn't remember the exact number, the googs says 5898 if the 50 move rule and the 3 fold repetition are instant draws.

under the fide rules they are not instant both need to be claimed. 75moves and 5th repetition are instant draws

Lichss implementation obviously can be anything. I don't thing 75/5th repetition is implemented. But at least third repetition in not instant unless you have set in on your settings. I do have it if less than some amount of time remains.
