what is lidraughts?

Well, a sort of lichess look and feel website, a fork so to say, but then for playing draughts (or checkers) instead of chess essentially ;-) Not as crowded as lichess, and -speaking for myself- I only played a couple of games against the computer, you see hardly people at absolute beginners level (like me) there.
The site is similar to Lichess the difference being that you play Draughts there.
but lichess was made first, and it is very obvious that lidraughts copied the lichess format and layout
..which they also mention in both the About page and at their GitHub source page (fork of..), no problem.

About is a free, adless, open-source draughts server, powered by volunteers.

Chess websites are around abundantly anno 2018, with many powerful features to play, learn and interact (all for free on The surprising absence of such a website for international draughts was an important motivation to create Lidraughts. Founded on the love for draughts, it hopes to grow into a place where people from all over the world can come to enjoy this beautiful game, for free.

Many words of gratitude must be expressed towards Thibault Duplessis for his brilliant piece of work As the astute reader may have noticed, bears a lot of resemblance to this website, both in name and appearance. Although the two are not formally affiliated, it is safe to say that lidraughts would not be here today without the source code of lichess as a basis. In its first incarnation, uses the same framework as, reimplemented for the game of draughts. So a big word of thanks to Thibault, the other lichess developers, and the open source community in general!

The full sourcecode for is available on GitHub.
