The turtle is awesome! When I think of longer time controls, a reptile characterized by a special bony or cartilaginous shell developed from their ribs is the first thing that pops into my head.
It just makes sense.
I don't like the rabbit/turtle icons, but they aren't bad. They're pretty good. I understand that turtle means slow, so it works.
How I see it:
lichess makes a nice improvement desired by the community, and since most people are perfectionist brats, people still whine/bitch.
We'll all have to get used to the new icons, and once you do after 2 months, you'll forget the cringe (or weird feeling) you felt when you first saw them.
@Rairden It takes little effort to change back to the hourglass.
I do like the new rabbit and turtle icons. Nice and cute. Kudos to the designers!
I think bullet should have an image of karpoff, coz ge played so fast. I dont like the rabbit.
I also agree slow chess should die a fast death. Mostly because it's just a board game, and you can still get quality games with 5+0 games. Just look at the quality, and rich tactics & battles in GM bullet and 3+0 games.
I've noticed my bullet games look way too similar to my 15min games, so it's hard to go back to waiting 10mins to see 2 moves.
