Stockfish 12 would be the clear winner.

Stockfish 12 beats Stockfish 8 (which was AlphaZero's opponent) more dominant than AlphaZero had beaten Stockfish 8.

would be an interesting match. Hope it could happen. And I think stockfish 8 beat alpha zero once or twice to.

I wouldn't know.... comparing 2 players by their performance against the same opponent is not very accurate.
For example, if a 1000 and a GM both played against a 400, it is very likely that the 1000 would win faster because he's probably going to try the scholars mate or some other opening trap, whereas the GM would play a proper opening and slowly but surely build his advantage onwards.

Stockfish 10 will crush AlphaZero

@InactiveGamer Engines don't do such things. Stockfish 12 plays only the best move. Regardless if the opponent is Magnus Carlsen or me.

In any case, I'm rooting for Stockfish. It's become an iconic mascot of the chess community (and not just here on lichess).

Stockfish is approximately +200 elo Stronger than A0 in TCEC conditions,!
So in 10 games match, approx results is
6 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss for Stockfish.

Btw, current Leela is already ways stronger than A0 already. ( 5x bigger Neural network with much more advanced features).

An engine in 3 years ago vs today top engines is like Nokia 2G phone vs smart phones.
