Should FIDE Chess Arena ratings be recognized on Lichess?

@Pham_Duy_Hai you are not a strong player. Neither am I actually I am very weak player just a tad stronger than. Hence how hard is to win some my experience nor yours matters much. We just don't win strong players do we.

yeah, agree on that although i think that's off-topic.

> Sure, but to be honest getting even 1100 in there is still hard. at least the AGM is high, and i don't think a lot people got it, which is tbh pretty high. I have never won a single game there, except for a draw with an 1000 bot, so you know how hard it is.

The average rating on Lichess is 1500 in Rapid(since Blitz is not a great indicator of strength. I've seen folks here that are about 2000 FIDE and 2500 Blitz). This is where about people lie.

Now back to the point. 1500 is a rating ANY casual player can achieve with very little study. In fact, you only probably need to play a lot(which is the fun part of chess, IMHO) and memorize the "Golden Rules of Chess" such as occupying the center, activating pieces, castling early and etc. Now what is the point, so to say, to give these people a title? What have they done? Have they put major work into getting that rating? Is it a high rating, which few can achieve? No.

And I assure you, if you just play a lot and follow the general rules of thumb stated above, you will improve in no time. If you don't, you are very special ;)

Lichess elo is a bit too inflated, so it shouldn't be used as an baseline. I assure you, most of the players on the platform is only around 500 - 600, and that's probably with little study, which is, as you stated, 1500. The thing is that players on the platform (and the bot) is very strong, and that most starters end up in the lower pile, so you shouldn't be too worried. If it goes YOUR way though, i suggest the AGM and ONLY that title be added, as it's 2000, which is relatively hard to achieve (after all FIDE said that these titles are for the lower bands, and replaced right away when there's OTB titles). PLUS, bullet is mandatory for this title, and the games required is A WHOLE 'NOTHER LEVEL (150 against 100 blitz games and 50 rapids), and you know what seperate low elo chess and high ones? BULLET.

Ratings are only relative to each other. You can't compare Lichess and FIDE ratings, as they use a completely different system to each other. Here are the statistics: lichess.org/stat/rating/distribution/rapid We can see that a measly 7% of players are below the rating of 1000. That is definitely not average.

You see, if they're that hard to achieve, why not just go CM. To put it simply, if the strength of 2000 on the online arena is as hard as getting a CM title, then there is little point having it at all. If it's lower, well, then they don't deserve a title. Titles, once again, are supposed to represent GREAT achievement and strength, and as a result(in most cases) passion and dedication. I repeat GREAT. Your average online blitzer shouldn't be able to get a title.

Ok now Bullet is complete nonsense. It has very little to do with actual chess strength and shouldn't even be part of ANY title requirements.

Well then just put AGM in - they are 2000, which should be around your average CM. Also, by the way, WCM (Woman candidate master) is equal to 2000, which is straight up equal to AGM (2000), so that goes that. We don't need those ACMs if they are weak, just AGMs. There? OKAY?

"very little to do with actual chess strength" okay, respect that, but the point still stands - low elo chess players plays very badly in bullet, and easy to be punished by highers before flagging them. plus, I think that it's another chess strength not presented in other time formats, where you have to have quick problem solving and stuffs. I hope you think about it.
@Pham_Duy_Hai here you jump to a conclusion that Arena ratings map directly to Elo ratings. They do not. I have no clue what strength of arena 2000 is but it is unlikely to be 2000 FIDE but clearly lower. and Average CM is not 2000 but 2200 and that is a big difference. Besides you failed to say what is the intended gain? what AGM would get? two letters in front of his nick? That is not worth the time and effort

Please read this link: handbook.fide.com/chapter/B11FOATitlesForLowerRatingBand
also it's not 2 letters, it's 3, and also you won't know who wants this to be in places like this. really, some like me wants this to be in, like a motivation for them to kind of continue playing, no matter what. i respect your opinion, but please, PLEASE, think about us. I am not too sad if it's rejected tho, it's lichess's opinion
EDIT:
0.62
For a direct title to be awarded immediately an applicant has to have achieved at some time or other a minimum rating as follows:

GM 2300 WGM 2100
IM 2200 WIM 2000
FM 2100 WFM 1900
CM 2000 WCM 1800
(from FIDE)
i guess CM = AGM now, don't we?
those number are not correct - or are but in wrong context. those are limits for titles earned by winning few special tournaments

1.3 Titles may be gained by achieving a published or interim rating at some time (see 1.53a). For ratings achieved after 1st July 2017, the player must at that time have played at least 30 rated games:

1.3.1 FIDE Master ≥2300
1.3.2 Candidate Master ≥2200
1.3.3 Women FIDE Master ≥2100

So AGM is nowhere near to a CM.

If you want that title and manage to get it then it would show up in your Fide-card. Which is more public that Lichess anyway
