Making money with chess

While I'm far from being a professional at standard chess,I'm curious to know whether you can make decent money with it
-Assuming you are not titled, but have a high rating(+2500),if I offer chess lessons, will I get approached by a fair number of students?
-What about chess books? Is it worth spending time on writing a digital chess book? Are they expected to have enough sales?
-Will lowering the prices compensate for me not being titled?
-Please answer the questions from your standpoint

In the Netherlands there are 100 chess professionals. 98 of them are teaching chess and only 2 are living from playing chess only (Van Foreest and Giri). There are professional teachers rated 2200 fide and even lower.

If you are good at carpentry, you can make chess boards & pieces then sell them.

You can stream, I saw 800 elo that just curses and make random move have more viewers than a 2500 that makes educational content so yeah

Seems not quite possible to get money with chess PURELY (given you're not a IM/GM already), still a good hobby though. Maybe they will have different impact on your life and simply get place in your heart instead.

There's a saying "If you want to make a small fortune playing chess start off with a large fortune."

I think some ways to earn could be

  1. Start streaming, post videos on YouTube (that's a good way to earn if your channel gets big but that's difficult)
  2. You can give chess lessons but not sure that you will get good number of students

Because streaming/VOD is about entertainment.

If your 2500 lacks this ability, but wants an increased viewership, then an easy way would be to give live chess courses to a bikini girl in a pool or something that way.
