is promoting all of your extra pawns to knights good sportsmanship in tournaments?

In my opinion if you can end game with a win easily promoting to queen why you should promote eight pawns to knight? It is a loss of time for you and for your opponent.
At least I had some fun when I saw Hikaru Nakamura mated an engine with 6 bishops...

Chess is not a way to humiliate people.
Personally I never resign in a dead lost position and it pays off with the occassional stalemate. If my opponent wants to promote all of their pawns to bishops or whatever it's fine with me.... funny stuff.
By the way: I've noticed that a lot of players resign or offer draw way to frequently it's gotta hurt their game. I've come back to win after blundering my queen many times... I've seen strong players resign or leave the game after losing a minor piece in the opening: resigning is weak/playing on is strong ( even in a dead lost position) JUSTmyOPINion.
#13 people who still play in lost positions are already humiliating themselves by showing that they are delusional and that they can't accept defeat, and are disrepectful by making their opponents waste their time. There's a reason why all the masters resign when they know they are lost.
RIPxxx : On more than a few occassions I would be playing an opponent rated 100 to 200 points higher than me and they would resign 15 moves into the game because I landed an early tactic and scored a minor piece... Conversely I've found myself in losing positions and come from behind to win or draw. I play in deade lost postions because I have a NEVER SURRENDER ethos... Those that are quick to resign don't have that ethos and lose games they could have one. The 'delusional' comment is a matter of perspective and of no consequence. JUSTmyOPINion.
Those who discuss style, ha-ha-ha. If you have to ask you will never know.

Nuff said.
for me it's kind of a no-go OTB.

In internet chess, I've seen much worse. Getting a horsie once in a while in a friendly blitz game is totally fine, same as checkmating with N+B or trying to explore the lichess move limit ;).

in 99% of the games the quick mate is more convenient for both sides though.
