Is 1600 a good rating

1600 rating is I guess an amateur ... still an ant compared to Magnus carlsens, lichess rating. 3000 smth!

I think Rating not important. High Checkmate Rate % only best player have.

Too many fools only timeout win and they say Oh I AM Best.

And Bullet chess is for heros with no time for cheat cards!

see where it is on the graph and decide for your self if you are above 50% of players in that time category.

At 1721 ... better than 75% of Classical players. Winning over 75% of the players on the site is real good for the ego. So I now need to find a chess site that has more classical players and classical tournaments.

I'm no longer fast enough to play on this site. I need increment time like minimum 3+2 to 15+10 time controls. I don't have patience for the 30 second increment times. As far as I know it was invented to write the moves down. Since we don't write moves down, why in the world do we have 30 second time controls on line? Half of that is more then enough bonus time.

1600 in lichess is actually just like beginner level, or someone who knows some basic tactics here and there, you can usually improve a lot just by doing puzzles and analyzing games and learning from mistakes. Less than 1600 signifies that you're more of a blundermaster than you are at 1600. But nevertheless, congrats on 1600!
