I think it's very clear that prep has an enormous role in this fight. We have seen that being able to put pressure on the board and put pressure on the clock with superior prep has led to winning rounds. So I think it can really go either way depending on who gets lucky with ending up in a prepped line.

nepo deserves more than ding to be world champion: twice in a row first among the candidates + ding was drafted after carlsen's withdrawal.
even with all due respect to ding, it would be fairer for nepo to be the champion.
