Bumping this to hopefully get some more responses .
Thanks @TheDudeAbides!
I choose this name, and use the same name on chess24.com and chess.com because I am a scientist of sorts; I am an Assistant Professor of Biology and have a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, with a variety of ongoing research interests (which tend to limit my chess playing and studying).
The name also matches that of a blog I used to maintain (http://scienceonthesquares.blogspot.com/) and my current youtube channel (www.youtube.com/channel/UC64kRWvQsUoqOOq6hHxk-Ew), all chosen for the above reasons.

This is the name I use for my music projects (cheapshot.bandcamp.com/)

I use mine because it's a constriction of my full name as well as a (admittedly very strained) latin pun for 'I play'.
I took mine because of my biggest issue in Chess: I play fast but wrong, just like a Dumb Robot would do.
Murray Head starred in the Musical "Chess" in the West End.
#67 Surely "Ludo" is "I play"?
My name is that of an old Gallic God, which some readers may remember from the Tales of Asterix...
