High puzzle rating compared to Rapid rating

Is it normal to have a relatively low rapid rating, but a very high puzzle rating? I observe other accounts and see that their puzzles are only 100 rating points higher.
It is normal to have a higher puzzle rating since in puzzles you know there is a winning combination for you, so you are actively hunting for it. In real games, you have to balance attack with defense, and balance improving your position while restricting your opponent's. sometimes it’s useful to keep your puzzle rating around 1800 as they are more relevant to the difficulty of the tactics that occur in real games compared to ones you get at higher ratings.
How would i do that? do i just fail a bunch of them?

There's rumors that some people create secondary accounts for puzzle solving. They don't play rated games on that account they just solve puzzles quickly.

I tend to believe those rumors are well-founded.
Just sit on your hands until you have found the solution. If it takes hours - so shall it be!
StingerPuzzles That could be true, but definitely wouldn't apply to everyone (edit: oh that's literally you ok)

Sarg0n That's not my problem, really

@tae7 what I'm doing is using the difficulty setting (-600, -300, 0, +300, +600)
that should put me at 1900 puzzles doing the "easier" setting
Hard to say, but as @ Derrick1Rose said, i average over a few minutes of time. I play 10+5, so I would probably miss those ideas under time pressure
Since the puzzle rating is essentially meaningless, it can be whatever you like. :)
