Closed sicilian

Hello, I hate fighting sicilian and I found closed sicilian to be what I like to play at least in theory (opposite castles, pawn storm). I have however found some people saying that it is not that good. What do you think about it and is it worth learning it
Thanks
Sicilian is a cheap trick (Bent Larsen). So all Anti-Sicilians have their value i.e. not falling for it (the cooperative d4 cxd4).
Calling the Sicilian a cheap trick is obvious hyperbole (by that measure an awful lot of good moves could similarly be described as "cheap tricks", which doesn't at all do justice to the thought behind them). However, Sarg0n makes a good point: that the Sicilian player probably wants you to play the Open, so declining that offer, if you can, is logical.

What does strike me as a bit odd is that you mention "opposite castles". In my experience, usually in the Closed Sicilian White still castles short, and then builds up an attack on the Kingside more slowly (sometimes including g4-g5 anyway). So maybe that's something to think about.

Do not care what some people say. Smyslov, Spassky even Fischer in the Revance Match played it.
I mean, the sicilian is incredibly sharp. I get that you wouldn't want to play it if you prefer calm, "positional" games, but if you're into attacking and opposite sides castling stuff, why are you so so adamant about playing it?

I remember some master saying that you don't really play chess until you try the ruy lopez and the sicilian. They are very rich with ideas that are essential for chess players
If you want to follow player here you must know who are they
@Smoe29 but i also hear him teach an opening in 10 minutes, so who cares what he says? Ask a gm, can you learn an opening in 10 minutes or pure bs?
