Many people advertise? I"ve never seen one...

I honestly do not really care about people advertising, I even think it's a good thing as it creates more variety in the forums. As long as they are advertisements with good information like "Check out this team, we host weekly tournaments etc" rather than "JOIN MY TEAM" and then putting the team link in the forum.

With that being said, some people may feel like it is annoying and want it gone. Seems like Lichess moderators are one of those kinds of people which I am fine with, don't really care anyways.

It seems that there's an unwritten rule that advertisements for teams are tolerated. However, if you were to advertise . . . other things, then it would be against the rules.

it could be pretty annoying and the forum gets spammed with Join my Team or Chess tutoring service or probably go as far as selling essential oils...

So still there is a debate
