How long does it take to "get good"?

In fast time controls you'll never improve too much, you'll get worse with time, I'm 47 and I only play ultrabullet and I'm around 2300, I very much doubt that there are a lot of +50 old players around +2500; reaction times and speed is vital. I was a gamer in the late 80's and early 90's with commodore amiga, even winning international competitions, and I'm good with mouse, that is hard to learn if you are old.

It's almost exactly 2 years since I signed up to lichess(not on this account) for the first time and I had rating about 1100. Now I got to 2000, it seems to be a much better rate of progression than the average. I'm 17 now and I'm wondering whether I am a prodigy, I've been doing a lot of puzzles tho.

Человек рассказал что от большого количества игр, которые безраздумные, рейтинг не будет расти. Если не заниматься теорией и просто играть, рейтинг также практически не растёт
