A new logo for Lichess

I analyzed the first 160 postings in this thread.

- 55 postings can be interpreted in such a way that the user likes the new logo
- 35 postings can be interpreted in such a way that the user doesn't like the new logo
- 70 postings can be interpreted in such a way, that the user has a neutral opinion about the new logo. A lot if these 70 postings don't even talk about the new logo, they talk about something else which is not directly related to the new logo.
- I might have misinterpreted the real meaning of some of the postings, because a lot of people like to use irony, cynicism or sarcasm in their postings. I tried to put these postings in the neutral category.
- I didn't try to find out whether some people voted twice or more for or against the new logo.

Bishop1964's opinion about the new logo: This is my second posting in this thread. I counted it as neutral.
The new logo looks like a genie which came out of a chess bottle. He has no feet to stand on.

Bishop1964 tried to find out if his theory about the genie is correct and confronted the new logo directly in the lobby.

Bishop1964: Hey you genie like looking new logo, can you grant me 3 wishes ?

New Logo : Hey Bishop1964, you don't even pay rent here on this site. I will grant you no wish. Shut up and play chess. I will watch you carefully.

Bishop1964: That is a good joke. You don't even have eyes to see me.

New Logo: You fool. Don't you see that I am your mirror image. The missing eye is dedicated to your blind spots when you play chess. I will get eyes at that moment when you stop making mistakes and blunders. Got it ?

Bishop1964 talking to himself : Damn this logo is a mirror image of me ? That makes sense. It is just as fat as I am.

And then Bishop1964 started to weep silently and returned to his "Fortress of Solitude" deep in the dungeons of the Lichess server.

Will the logo be put on some merchandise ? I d love to buy a t shirt with it

Yes, new merchandise is coming. We are working on it.

Yes a T shirt would be good, gives a sense of belonging to a community. I would wear mine downtown at the chess tables in the park.

There is already some choices available at lichess.org/swag. Nothing new yet though.

Thats way outside my tiny area of expertise sadly. So I can't really help you there. But I draw a mean stickman. Personally I really like the new logo.
