A new opening trap?

#40 1 pawn or 7 pawns is a loss just the same. Of course it is not as obvious as in the original post, but ...h6 is always a dangerous move if a knight is on g5 and you have to look carefully at Nxf7 or Nxe6.
@tpr I agree that ...h6 can be problematic and not always easy to assess - but in this context, I would argue that the degree of loss is relevant. Another thing that makes for a good a trap (aside from not exposing the trapper to unnecessary risk in the event that the opponent doesn't fall for it) is the ability to ensnare the victim without the need for them to make a major blunder... rather only smaller mistakes or inaccuracies that get the trappee in hot water. That seemed to be more the case when Kasparov got caught.

I suppose there are other criteria for a good trap as well.. like baiting the trappee in a manner that makes them assume that they are the ones who set the trap only to find themselves ensnared in a deeper trap (like the example by Fischer that you posted).
