By far the best move. Not hope chess at all.
On the pro level they use pawn baits.
"hope chess" exists in the mind; therefore, it was indeed "hope chess", just look at the title of the thread, "Queen Bait".
Best move according to Stockfish... coincidence ... stockfish doesn't bait :-)

It's not about the queen, I call it "dull" because this bait was kinda obvious, it wasn't prepared few moves earlier, the threat was easy readable and so on. Consider the huge time control.
Here's example of more exciting bait situation if you interested: http://ru.lichess.org/u9AGJ4LKdgvg
It's all started as a fight over c7 square. After 11 ... Qc3+ I decided to offer fake queen trade, because this way my opponent can take rook with check instead of just taking bishop, which I really want to stay on a board. And it's way better than accept the trade obviously. Then I hope he forgot to defend, because he's attacking and it's winning position. Yes, I used to play like this a lot. :D

Something is really wrong with you when your response to a post by thibault is to try to win some meaningless argument . lol

I'm not the topic starter, so thibault respond to other guy. Also I have no idea why you mention him personally, but well, nevermind.
I was just trying to explain myself, nothing more.

It's not a bait, its called a deflection
Using the term "bait" maybe has its causation from the chess trap "fishing pole"..
