The Cost of Ignoring Intuition: A Championship Regret

Легко сейчас - включил компьютер и он показал правильный ход. А если там не было выигрыша, вы бы решились в похожей ситуации продолжить борьбу?

It is better to take risks than just take a draw. If you take a risk the outcome may be good. If not you lose but when you lose, you discover new mistakes to fix so its a win win. Next time, you will be able to win similar positions. If you take a draw in possible winning positions, you have NO chance to win at all.

Excellent post I love it! To the point and very informative, I fell sorry for your missed win as I had the same "must win situation" in one tournament game, but I drew more or less because I believed I had no shot in defeating the 2 times states champion, so I was going with a "Draw is okay" I ended up with 4 place, but if I had beaten the guy, I would have scored 2 place. It happens the important thing is to learn from it, so I can teach others to fall for the same mistake as me.

I remember a simple rook endgame in which Bobby Fischer played too simply. He actually blundered but luckily his opponent ddnt see it.
