356! I will answer post #356. Here it is:

"But why do you care if we try? That's what I don't get. The only explanation i could see is that you don't want it to change, and think it can, but that contradicts what you say, and I do think you mean what you write. So why?"

(1) I do not want anyone, female or male, to experience harassment of any type. It is sad this happens.

(2) That said, Big Meanies have existed on the internet since day 1. They will never go away.

(3) I encourage people to toughen up. There's no need to write 50,000 word (this blog post + all the comments) about the perennial phenomenon of harassment. Waste of energy.

(4) Block people who violate the TOS, report them to the moderators, and move on with your life.

(5) Seek no glory for engaging in "courageous conversations".

> From the very onset, we are introduced to the world of chess through the lens of race: white versus black, where white has an advantage just by Virtue of moving first, creating an unequal playing field. It's no wonder so many people of color feel unwelcome. But chess is also highly misogynistic, referring to sexist tropes such as "knights" and requiring the queen to put her own life in danger to protect the king. The game also promotes violence against women, making the queen the most highly prioritized piece to kill. Losing your queen often means losing the game. This causes men to aggressively hunt and kill women. I'm a victim!!!!

Everyone let's take a moment to express our deepest gratitude for @KevinWeinberg 's unique insights on the issue of systemic sexism in the game of chess. His bold stance on this issue is a testament to his courage and bravery. Thank you @KevinWeinberg for sharing your wisdom and being a beacon of light and hope in these challenging times. You have proven yourself to be a real feminist ally.

You mean like you have been doing the whole time?

Only if the bar for what is being a "victim" is now so low to such an appalling extent that anyone who during the course of their lives encounters any degree of unpleasantness is now a victim. In which case, everyone is a victim, and thus victim hood utterly bereft of meaning.

You still didn not explain why you care if we are having this discussion. the only thing resembling you adressing the question is "waste of energy" but then again, why do you care if we "waste our energy" ?

Why do you invest your own time and energy to tell us to not "waste" our?

If your entire argument consists of trying to ascertain why someone else cares, you have already lost the discussion.
