That's more nasty than arrogant. Low sportmanship, poor etiquette.
Arrogant would be disrespecting principles, ie acting one is above that, eg disrespecting opponents by wasting tempi in early opening
Players with low self-esteem often employ gimmicks to maximize their impact, especially after losing hope to improve for real

Not arrogance just being smart and usina the rules to our favor. I hate being flagged as anyone else, but if I choose to play 3/0 or any control wothout increment I have to Live woth consequences.

It's only fun, when you're on the giving end. Certainly not a psycho.

I disagree about the rematch avoidance. Now that they lost on time they will be all worked up and play the opening real quick. So quick that they will fall into a lefong! Only then is it time to avoid a rematch ;-)

Haha, yes, like they say in poker, they may be "on tilt". To be honest, I only usually accept rematches at any time if I'm pretty confident that the opponent will be good fun to play (like they click on "good game"). A large proportion of the time I used to regularly accept rematches, I would just be sitting there waiting while the 30 seconds elapsed and it aborted, likely because they had offered a 'spite rematch' that they had no intention of playing. Other than that, your theory sounds tenable :) .
