Apparently the prices differ a lot between countries. In ours, a wooden DGT e-board with wooden pieces (Walnut + Timeless) can be bought for 564 EUR plus shipping, i.e. way less than 1700 USD. And the Smart Board version with Timeless pieces for 416 EUR.
