I once had an awkward situation in a tournament that was in a library where only one room was rented out. After a game which I won, my opponent loudly attempted to begin a postmortem session with games still in progress. I indicated that we needed to be quiet as other players were disturbed. The next day, he sent me an email complaining that I had treated him rudely.
Well, he was in the wrong, and you were right to point it out. That much is clear. I suppose that it is possible that you did so in a rude way, but I very much doubt it, based on the idea of you that I have from your posts.
Probably he knew he was in the wrong; unfortunately, there are people who react to that sort of situation by making undeserved counterattacks.
