I'm into music and personal growth and community and computers and all kinds of things.

I learned the basic rules of chess as a kid (~age 9), played a few games, and found the immense complexity of what was possible overwhelming. I didn't play again until early 2021, at age 40.

I now find chess quite beautiful. I love the patterns, and learning different ways of thinking about it. Instead of playing to win, and feeling like a failure for losing (like I did at age 9), I'm playing for fun, learning, and increasing my understanding. I'm a total beginner and having fun!
