The Montana-class super heavy battleship (SHBB) was a planned class of battleship for the United States Navy, intended as the successor to the Iowa class. They were to be slower but larger, better armored, and with superior firepower.
They were cancelled in favour of continuing the production of the Essex class aircraft carriers instead.
