Like may people, I watched The Queens Gambit on Netflix, got interested in chess & started, in earnest, January 2021. I the point that I consistently win against the 2nd level computer program & hold my own with the third level. Started quick pairing games just recently. Retired. Live in Rocky Mountain West. I absolutely love Bridge & not too bad. This is new for me. Mentally taxing. I have a book on openings but usually resort to the basic four moves -- two pawns & two knights -- unless opponent throws me off which is frequently. I still have to learn about defense when I am black.
