I have been interested in strategy games since a long time. I have been playing StarCraft 2 but i got bored after a couple of years and started programming my own strategy game with the features I wanted. The game is not done but I've come a long way on the project. Meanwhile I searched for different strategy games and suddenly realized chess exists. The oldest and most wide spread strategy game you'ill ever find. As many others I had already been playing a bit of chess during my childhood and so chess was not something new to me, I just started playing online.
