2021 Autumn Marathon advices

Marathons are great for big chess fans and everyone of us wants to get this great trophy!

I played already 3 marathons where in 1 of them I won a trophy and I have some experience which I can share but also I asked my friends who are very good at chess about marathon! And in this blog you will read some advices which can help you in the Autumn Marathon!
1.Berserk more!
There are a lot of people and you need to get your points very fast to be top 500 and berserk can give you 1 extra point which is a great help!
2.Turn on the light in you room!
Light can help you to have more energy and not to be very sleepy! And this helped me really a lot!
3.Take breaks!
Breaks are great to gain energy and without them you will have a lot of losing streaks. When I played marathons and got tired - I was able to lose 10+ games in a row!
4.Sleep more before the marathon!
Sleeping can help you to gain energy for very long day of chess!
5.Make sure that you are strong enough for top 500!
I advice to play only for 2000+ players because average opponents in top 500 are 2100+ and this can be very hard to play for people who are not strong enough.
6.Ask family members or other people to not distract you!
Family members can distract you a lot when they don't know that you are playing which can make it difficult to play for you!
7.Play more than 10 hours!
Dear reader, not only you are a crazy chess fan, there are a lot of them and to be top 500 you need to play really a lot! To get my trophy I played around 18 hours.
8.Stay hydrated because water helps your brain activity!
This is really an important advice which can help you to have more energy!
9.Believe in yourself and be confident!
This advice can help you to have energy during marathon and to stay motivated!
10.Enjoy playing and have fun!
Make sure that you are enjoying and doing it not only for trophy but because you love chess a lot too!
