My grandfather had a beautiful chess table when I was a little girl. The chairs had lion heads on the armrests and thin, mustard yellow pillows with tassels. As far as I remember at least...
But it was this table, and watching granddad and my mom play, that made me interested in learning. But I weren't able to learn more than the essential basics.
In 2016 I was diagnosed with ADD and started with medication. Summer 2020 I tried to play again, for the first time in 27 years, and I suddenly could see chess as more than just a toy. And now I can't seem to stop playing.....
