GM Magnus Carlsen won the SuperUnited Rapid & Blitz Croatia 2025! Reigning World Champion Gukesh Dommaraju beat Carlsen in the Rapid section and was the clear leader after the first 9 rounds, but couldn't maintain his lead in the Blitz section and finished in 3rd place, behind GM Wesley So.

The FIDE Women's World Cup 2025 has started in Batumi, Georgia! 107 players, including former Women's World Champion Tan Zhongyi, GMs Lei Tingjie, Koneru Humpy, Anna Muzychuk and many others, will compete for a total prize fund of $691,250 and three spots in the Women's Candidates Tournament 2026 until 28 July.
