Wonderful
As a beginner I found your writing to be very encouraging so thank you! Especially the mantra “sometimes you win and sometimes you LEARN” cheers to that!
yes
Very nice post as such an important aspect in the game. Some days I’m in a bad mood from a loss the night before. Trying to gain some insight from each game if a win or loss and see my opponent as a person with the same struggles to balance the highs and lows of the game. It’s such a beautiful game with so many positive aspects that I hope losing never gets in my way to play and enjoy it. Thanks for your insights
Another great blog of yours. I really appreciate that. And this time, it‘s 100% true as well: Losing is hard, at any level. Personally, I really hate it if there is that one move you‘ve mentioned in your calculation which you didn‘t play because you thought it was bad, but in the end it would‘ve been the best move. This actually happened to me in a tournament when I was absolutely winning but then throwing further than ever, even losing two moves after missing the move. Who can relate to that feeling? But thanks to your blog, I was reminded of how important losing is. Thank you so much!
no matter how hard I try, there is always a bigger nerd than me. honestly 99% general population knows nothing of chess depth, beauty, cruel game, suffering, dramas, personalities. no doubt in US we are nerds. but tough as nails, smart, calculating, able to take a whuppin nerds too!
in the end, one's health, wealth, wisdom, spouse, career are 10X-100,000X more important than chess. as they say, in the end, the King and Pawn get put in the same box.

you are one smart dude ratherfish
at least when you fish, you might get dinner, not just online "rating points" or a shattering loss. but the 14 y/o here won't listen. they think chess is important in the world. yah, maybe for the top 10, might as well be 2nd string NFL, much better. Or an accountant or skilled laborer.
