Mark Taimanov was born on Feb. 7 1926 in Soviet Ukraine and spent several decades ranked in the top twenty in the world. He was a well-known author of chess books, won the Soviet championship in 1956, and was also a world-class pianist! Grandmaster Taimanov died in 2016 at the age of 90, after a long and very interesting life!
