  1. FM NoMate4u I have not played 45/45 for a long while and also my classical OTB chess is quite rusty
  2. FM NoMate4u Thus, I feel kind of justified to go for this unambitious setup with White that resembles a Slav with Colors reversed
  3. FM NoMate4u so I am also officially out of 'book'. I have the feeling that the c4 push didn't help black as White's plan to push e4 was very clear
  4. FM NoMate4u and unavoidable afterwards. And so far I think that Bd6 even strengthened this Idea. Imo Be7!? was preferable
  5. FM NoMate4u the greek gift sacrifice looked very tasty. The silicon things will probably scream 'You should have done it' after the game
  6. FM NoMate4u but I did not see a continuation after Bxh7 Kxh7 Ng5 Kg6
  7. FM NoMate4u I spent quite a while calculating variations centered around Ng5, but could not find a super convincing continuation
  8. FM NoMate4u this guy truly has some balls of steel. I would have consumed consdierable amounts of time for thes positions
  9. FM NoMate4u and still I would have blundered. Saying that, he probably has blundered somewhere and I was secretly +5, but I just didn't see the
  10. FM NoMate4u solution
  11. FM NoMate4u there was also the kind of tempting Bxh6 but I think it fails to Bg6
  12. FM NoMate4u I believe that this temporary counterplay will lead to nothing, could ofc be mistaken, I am only human after all
  13. FM NoMate4u the critical variation was of course not 21. Bd6 but f5. But I believe that after f5 Qf3 Bd6 d5!?
  14. FM NoMate4u the pawns on e6 and f5 are way too weak
  15. FM NoMate4u I think I played this too quickly. Optically looks nice but I think I overlooked a more convincing win
  16. FM NoMate4u with fxe6 fxe6 and Qe7!
  17. FM NoMate4u after Kc6 the bishop on d6 is hanging and Kc6 runs into Be4
  18. basilcandle was there anything wrong with 33. Rd7
  19. basilcandle Oh this is better haha
  20. basilcandle gg
  21. FM NoMate4u Okay now I wanna know where the mate in 5 is after Kd6...
  22. Paxarz Qg4 was a nice find ! well played
  23. Paxarz after Bf4 i mean
  24. FM NoMate4u Thx. My previous intention was to play Nf6 after Bf4
  25. FM NoMate4u But things are not so clear, so I'm happy I found the other move order
  26. Paxarz right
  27. FM NoMate4u Oh Qxb5 is the mate in 5. Logical, but no way I am seeing this when I can win the queen....
