Rated matches vs. Friends?

Hi all,

I've been doing correspondence matches with my friends from my high school. I've noticed that some of the challenge requests are "Rated Correspondence", compared to just Casual.

Does your Rating change if you're facing friends? Is there a separate score vs. that individual friend, compared to your actual rating? Most importantly, does this count as artificially inflating/deflating rank?

There is no difference when playing rated games against friends. And it is of course allowed :). As long as one of you isn't losing on purpose many times there is no problem.
