  1. em-as-in-emily (4...d6) I vaguely recall that Bc4 Nb6 Bxf6+ leads to good things, but it's risky
  2. em-as-in-emily (4...d6) also black doesn't have to play that move
  3. em-as-in-emily (7.e6+) Knight sac coming up with Ng5 and Qf3 if either Kx or Bxe6
  4. em-as-in-emily (7.e6+) My biggest worry is that I do not recall what to do if the K retreats
  5. em-as-in-emily (8.Ng5) Threatening Qf3-Qf7#. h6 leads to at least a draw if h6 Qf3 hxg5 Qf7+ Kh7 Qh5+ Kg8 etc.
  6. em-as-in-emily (8...Qe8) Qe8 also doesn't defend against mate--Qe8 Qf3 threatens Qf7+ Qxf7 exf7#
  7. em-as-in-emily (8...Qe8) g6 might work though
  8. em-as-in-emily (9.Qf3) actually h6 also works now with Qe8. That's annoying
  9. em-as-in-emily (9.Qf3) wait I'm silly, it doesn't
  10. em-as-in-emily (17...Nc6) Wanted to play Nf3 Ng5 to do hopefully maybe something but e4 in response traps the knight
  11. em-as-in-emily (18...Qf7) Nf3-Ng5 is a real threat now, the issue is Bxf3. Can I deflect the bishop?
  12. em-as-in-emily (18...Qf7) I could just hope for Bxa2, but I doubt black plays it
  13. em-as-in-emily (18...Qf7) Rac8 then c4? Then if Nxc4 Rxc4 Bxc4 Nf3
  14. em-as-in-emily (18...Qf7) Probably not worth it though
  15. em-as-in-emily (20.b3) Really hard to get initiative now
  16. em-as-in-emily (26...Bxh6) whoa, what?
  17. em-as-in-emily (27...Nf6) I didn't expect the trade
  18. em-as-in-emily (27...Nf6) suppose I should have, I 'm in a bad spot now
  19. em-as-in-emily (30...Nf4) Shoot, that was a mistake on my part
  20. em-as-in-emily (30...Nf4) Can't avoid a queen trade now
  21. em-as-in-emily Ah, I misremembered the Bxf7+ idea
  22. em-as-in-emily 5.Bb5+ and only if Bd7 does 6.Bc4 Nb6 7.Bxf7+ work
  23. em-as-in-emily Thanks for the game and good luck next week!
  24. Snodder Yeah I knew about Bxf7 but with other lines. I knew that a timely Qd5+ was part of the defense in that line, but that wasn't possible
  25. Snodder without d4 cxd cxd.
  26. Snodder I figured that the two pieces weren't enough for a succesful attack though
  27. Snodder g6 took some time to find, was somewhat lucky that it was a move in that position
  28. Snodder Thanks for the exciting game and good luck with Lonewolf and 4545!
  29. Snodder 1. e4 c5 2. c3 Nf6 3. e5 Nd5 4. Nf3 d6 5. d4 cxd4 6. cxd4 Nc6 7. Bc4 Nb6 8. Bxf7+ was the bishop sac line that I was aware of
