  1. GiveMeKite this is an interesting opening choice, I think I'll just claim the bishop pair, push c4, and be happy with my position
  2. GiveMeKite if dxc4, I'm going to spend my bishop on wrecking their queenside structure
  3. GiveMeKite I guess the question now is how do I finish development. I see no problems with b3 and Bb2
  4. Sidewinder1648 Go msncm!
  5. GiveMeKite ok positionally I feel amazing right now. I have an unchallenged LSB and a long open diagonal
  6. GiveMeKite I can undermine their center with e3, or move my knight to e4 to trade and move my queen to d2
  7. GiveMeKite I was expecting the trade but now Qd2 would trap my knight after f5. I think I can break their center up now and open up my bishop w e3
  8. GiveMeKite it might weaken my king a little, but the center is relatively closed
  9. GiveMeKite and the g1-a7 diagonal cant really be taken advantage of right now by their DSB
  10. GiveMeKite reminds me of some QID positions I've seen with this bishop closed off right now
  11. AACtrl reminds me of most of my games, with both bishops untombed hehe
  12. mysonnevercallme (17.Nxe5) ok black is better here
  13. mysonnevercallme (17.Nxe5) w8, maybe it's not
  14. GiveMeKite still feeling great. 19. ...Nc6 is a mistake, Qh5 forks h7 and c5
  15. GiveMeKite alright now is the time to decide if there is a crazy attack or not
  16. GiveMeKite does g4 g5 work
  17. mysonnevercallme (19...Nf7) it's 3 pawn vs a B. i dont really believe that attack
  18. GiveMeKite also Ba3 with Qh5 later looks nice
  19. GiveMeKite I guess if I go Ba3, they can go g6 to stop my queen from coming in
  20. GiveMeKite so Nd6 forces my bishop out of there because I want to keep it on the board
  21. GiveMeKite so if I want to develop a rook, I can't do Rf3 because of that
  22. GiveMeKite I also want to push b4 at some point I'm sure, to undermine the center
  23. GiveMeKite maybe even b4 and a3? Gambit a queenside pawn to activate my rook over there?
  24. casual921 I thought ck xb
  25. casual921 Rapid movement
  26. mysonnevercallme (29...Ng4) Qd5 i dont think they have time to take on c5
  27. mysonnevercallme (29...Ng4) they can for Q trade and i'm dow a pawn
  28. GiveMeKite they have mate threats against me, I can avoid mate with h4, but I can't with that queen attacking g3
  29. GiveMeKite so let's trade queens, I'll be up a pawn, all is well
  30. mysonnevercallme (33.Rc1) this is one of those bad days
  31. GiveMeKite two plans possible
  32. GiveMeKite I can go Bc6, remove the knight, win the pawn
  33. GiveMeKite I can push b4, infiltrate with Rc7, and trade a pawn that way. BUT I keep my bishop on the board
  34. GiveMeKite I can just trade down to a two pawn up rook endgame
  35. mysonnevercallme (33...Nd7) maybe i'm not lost with b4 though
  36. mysonnevercallme (33...Nd7) nope i'm dead lost
  37. GiveMeKite b4 I keep my bishop plus I have a passed b pawn. Looking for a forced win in that line
  38. mysonnevercallme (33...Nd7) at least it's my own fault. i'm not lost cause of some random non-sense
  39. GiveMeKite I think with the knight and rook controlling b6, that passed pawn will have a hard time getting going.
  40. GiveMeKite I'm just gonna do Bc6 and deal with that endgame
  41. GiveMeKite Be8 has to be the best move there, it hits their pawn and it avoids NxB. Also if Re6 I can reroute through f7 to a better square on c4
  42. GiveMeKite actually it might just win the g pawn if they go Re6
  43. mysonnevercallme (41...Re6) w8 i'm down a tempo for this to work
  44. mysonnevercallme (42...Rf6) Bf7 Rg6 Rg7 Bd3 and simply Rxg6 wins
  45. mysonnevercallme (42...Rf6) not that it's already not winning
  46. GiveMeKite I prepared a reversed KID / KID Sicilian Variation, but Bd7 to c6 caught me off guard
  47. GiveMeKite *KIA Sicilian Variation
  48. mysonnevercallme yea i missed Ne5 so i played it
  49. mysonnevercallme i'd still play it had i seen Ne5 though
  50. GiveMeKite I saw 31. Qxd4 but I was worried about Rf1+ RxR and then cxQ. But the pin on the rook prevents that
  51. GiveMeKite I wasn't worried about it - I thought Qxd4 just blundered the queen, but nope, I missed that pin
  52. mysonnevercallme w8 what?
  53. GiveMeKite After 30. Rc1 Ne3 I saw 31. Qxd4, but I thought I was losing my Q after Rf1+. It turns out that rook was pinned and Rf1+ was not a problem
  54. GiveMeKite The capture on d4 pins the rook, but I missed that
