  1. GiveMeKite Ndf6 just feels more principled, their queenside development is already iffy
  2. GiveMeKite Nxf2 looks so good though, this is a really hard choice
  3. GiveMeKite I can't bring myself to sacrifice it
  4. GiveMeKite I think Kg2 and the king is safe enough that they have time to build pressure on my e3 pawn and take it
  5. GiveMeKite without that e3 pawn halting development, I think they'd be better
  6. GiveMeKite now I have to reevaluate Nxf2 all over again, holy cow
  7. GiveMeKite my gut says Nxf2 is better now, I'm about to burn another 10+ minutes -_-
  8. GiveMeKite no there's no way with Nxf2
  9. RBorja1980 Let's go Yeyq!
  10. GiveMeKite the immediate f4 is also on the table
  11. GiveMeKite for me, I think for them f4 would be a little sus
  12. GiveMeKite "a little sus" - completely awful
  13. GiveMeKite right now I'm thinking Nxf2 vs f4. I'm ahead on development, I need to open things up and attack
  14. GiveMeKite I still think they can tuck away the king fast enough after Nxf2
  15. GiveMeKite and now their b pawn is gone, and also the rook isn't on that diagonal anymore
  16. GiveMeKite a possible exchange sac too, my favorite
  17. GiveMeKite 14. Bxg4 Nxg4 15. exf4 exf4 16. Bxf4 Rxf4
  18. GiveMeKite well I guess it's actually now or never on Nxf2
  19. GiveMeKite wait fxg3???
  20. GiveMeKite I was thinking about g4 mostly but I see a pretty forcing line with Qd6, worried more about complications from Nd2
  21. Feet_Barbie (16...e4) interesting
  22. Feet_Barbie (17.Nd2) very cool skewer on c4
  23. Feet_Barbie (17.Nd2) how does black get in
  24. Feet_Barbie (17...Bxe3) mmh maybe
  25. GiveMeKite Ok if Ndxe4, I think I win the piece back with better king safety
  26. GiveMeKite actually if either knights takes, I think that is the case
  27. GiveMeKite oh no I missed a tactical detail
  28. Feet_Barbie (19.Nxe4) right
  29. Feet_Barbie (19.Nxe4) he missed bc4
  30. Feet_Barbie (19.Nxe4) bxc1 qxc1 qxd4 bc4 still works cos queen moved
  31. GiveMeKite shoot did I just throw all of my advantage away
  32. Feet_Barbie (19.Nxe4) why they blitz tactics :O always recheck the moves every move you just go deeper
  33. GiveMeKite I missed Bc4 to pin my quen to my king after BxB and Qxd5
  34. GiveMeKite At least I have Bxg4
  35. Feet_Barbie (19...Bxc1) do you
  36. Feet_Barbie (20...Bxg4) bxg4 bxg4 qxd5 qc2?
  37. Feet_Barbie (20...Bxg4) re8 nf6+ gxf6 qxh7
  38. Feet_Barbie (20...Bxg4) @milsbees sorry i called ur game boring earlier
  39. GiveMeKite I think I have tricks later with Rc8 it I trade everything down
  40. GiveMeKite I think if Kxe2 instead of Rxe2, I would have lost the game
  41. GiveMeKite I still might lose, but I think I can promote or win a rook here
  42. Feet_Barbie (23...Rac8) kg2?
  43. GiveMeKite actually Kg2 and I might still be losing, I thought Rc4 was enough but maybe not
  44. Feet_Barbie (24.Kg2) ahah yeah kite
  45. Feet_Barbie (24...Rc4) maybe ne4
  46. GiveMeKite I think we're just going to have to go into a worse endgame and try to hold
  47. Grzybozbur i liked ne6 better, now it looks like black can win the passer, and white will have to think
  48. Feet_Barbie (26.d6) thats where i always go wrong i never want the worse endgame ahah
  49. GiveMeKite morale is low, I had such a good position and then I just miscalculated some stuff
  50. Feet_Barbie (26.d6) and go all in before
  51. Feet_Barbie (26.d6) a tip to future kite, always recheck the line every move, i know its obvious but it really improved my play and many of my friends
  52. Feet_Barbie (26...Rf4) you see a long sequence dont just play every move fast, recheck everything cos your visualization is gonna be more clear if
  53. Feet_Barbie (26...Rf4) its already one move in on the board
  54. Feet_Barbie (26...Rf4) for example after bxe3 you played instantly but could still have rechecked the variation
  55. Feet_Barbie (26...Rf4) this is meant to help i do mistakes all the time myself (yesterdays game)
  56. Feet_Barbie (27...Rxd6) kg3!
  57. GiveMeKite I think I can manage a draw with two pawns against a knight
  58. GiveMeKite since they are connected, passed pawns
  59. Feet_Barbie (31.R1e3) but not if you lose the other pawns
  60. Feet_Barbie (33...Rf7) this cant be right?
  61. Feet_Barbie (33...Rf7) quick some endgame master tell me @rborja1980
  62. Grzybozbur well, how does white win this with rooks off?
  63. Grzybozbur it doesn;t seem that he can cover both flanks at the same time
  64. Grzybozbur black gets the king to the center and white king alone can't stop the passers
  65. Grzybozbur i mean, he can stop them, but not win them
  66. Grzybozbur and if he tries to win the kingside pawns, the knight has to leave the q-side and black will attack the weak white pawns
  67. Grzybozbur so the only option seems to be the white king on the q-side, but then black should be able to defend
  68. GiveMeKite giving away the b pawn for king activity and possible promotion, but I think it's just lost honestly
  69. GiveMeKite b6 might have been better than Ke6, to just lure the knight more into the corner
  70. Grzybozbur so why did black king go to the kingside?
  71. GiveMeKite oh maybe I hsould be putting my king on the other side of the board...
  72. GiveMeKite creating two threats, since I already have a strong kingside threat
  73. Feet_Barbie (38...h5) here s the answer ahah
  74. GiveMeKite I need to go after those pawns on the queenside
  75. Grzybozbur now might be too late for that
  76. GiveMeKite can I play for a win, is the knight far enough away
  77. GiveMeKite oh no I think not
  78. Grzybozbur now white just pushes the pawns and promotes, what does black intend to do about that?
  79. Inter-temporal (41.b5) i wonder if the position before 37.Nxb7 exists in an endgame book
  80. Grzybozbur i don't know, but i don't see how white could win this before the black king went astray
  81. Grzybozbur now white wins the second pawn and the knight can go pick up the kingside pawns
  82. Feet_Barbie (42...Ke5) havent given it much thought but maybe it was always winning
  83. Grzybozbur how?
  84. Grzybozbur 36.nc5 kd5 nxb7 kc4
  85. Grzybozbur and the a-pawn falls, because if white defends ith nc5 black has a5
  86. GiveMeKite oh my god, they have a fork at the end
  87. GiveMeKite they have enough time to get their knight back
  88. Feet_Barbie (43...Kf4) they also have na5
  89. GiveMeKite desperation draw offer? maybe he's scared too, and low on time
  90. Feet_Barbie (43...Kf4) idk it does require lots of calculation not sure u might be right
  91. GiveMeKite always worth it to try
  92. Feet_Barbie (43...Kf4) maybe they went wrong even earlier
  93. Grzybozbur na5 doesn;t defend the a-pawn
  94. RBorja1980 Gg
  95. yeyq ouch
  96. GiveMeKite yeah
  97. GiveMeKite I think after Na7->c6->e5 you had a fork at the end
  98. GiveMeKite well not really a fork, a deflection, but yeah
  99. yeyq didn't see that and did't want to risk losing
  100. Grzybozbur yes, but white can't advance the pawns with the knight on a5
  101. GiveMeKite so 14. ...Nxf2 was the right move, huh
  102. Grzybozbur so black can just chill with kis king there
  103. GiveMeKite I do not understand what you're saying, I don't see the knight going to a5 ever
  104. Grzybozbur i'm talking about the line after 36 nc5
  105. GiveMeKite AND 14. ...Nxe3... wow
  106. GiveMeKite ah I see
  107. Feet_Barbie well very cool game the opening was so fun
  108. GiveMeKite oh that's crazy
  109. Grzybozbur black had an easy plan, just attack the white pawns and i don;t see what white could do about it
  110. Feet_Barbie did u see he could take on g4 anyways?
  111. Feet_Barbie in middlegame
  112. GiveMeKite Barbie what move #?
  113. Feet_Barbie 21
  114. Feet_Barbie endgame yeah it was drawn very instructive
  115. GiveMeKite no Barbie, I did not see that at all
  116. Feet_Barbie should not be based off calculation but knowledge and instincts i m not there yet
  117. GiveMeKite I played Bxg4 thinking that with my queen hitting the rook, the knight, and xraying the other rook I had something
  118. GiveMeKite and just didn't see Re2 at all, kinda sad
  119. Feet_Barbie and i saw qx2 and nf6 line which is cool
  120. Feet_Barbie sadly re2 is better and works too
  121. Feet_Barbie but qc2 is more cool
  122. Feet_Barbie ahaha
  123. Feet_Barbie qc2 re8 nf6 qxh7
  124. Feet_Barbie well turns out the english isnt that borign uh
  125. GiveMeKite I really liked studying the opening for this game, but I should probably spend more time on middlegame study...
  126. Feet_Barbie noo this opening looks so fun ahah
  127. Feet_Barbie its all about tactics and calculation that brings the most improvement
  128. Feet_Barbie i feel like you rushed some moves in the critical moment but its hard to understand when the critical moment hits
  129. Feet_Barbie qe8 is a cool idea very useful typical of f5 openings like the dutch or like the grand prix attack
  130. GiveMeKite I rushed at the wrong times, I missed tactics, I just wasn't all there. yeyq played the better game by far
  131. Feet_Barbie was best move on move 17 could be useful to remember as a maneuver
  132. Feet_Barbie he had to defended all game cos a madman was coming for his throat ahah
  133. Feet_Barbie very interesting game both of you
  134. GiveMeKite thank you, I like to play slow/positional usually but I saw this opening in yeyq's history and thought it was a great chance
  135. GiveMeKite to try something a little different
  136. yeyq yeah, i lost it previously
  137. Feet_Barbie could be helpful to improve in this area of the game to try sometimes more sharp play
  138. GiveMeKite yeah 100%, sharp terrifies me but I need to work on it
  139. GiveMeKite 17. ...Qe8, so much to learn
  140. GiveMeKite Qe8 -> g6 and then there are so many threats
  141. GiveMeKite I pushed e4 thinking of Qd6, I didn't even think of getting the queen over there in other ways
  142. GiveMeKite And if g4 I was going to give up the knight, so Qe8 g4 Qg6 really should have come to mind since I can give the knight up there too
  143. Feet_Barbie yeah you need the queen on the g file i couldnt make it work moving the knight
  144. GiveMeKite Like 15 min before the game, I had 0 d4 prep
  145. GiveMeKite I was looking through yeyq's classical games, and saw there was a recent d4 one
  146. GiveMeKite And I was like oh crap, did he cook something in d4 for me
  147. yeyq not this time :)
  148. GiveMeKite And I scrambled to look at the London
  149. GiveMeKite gg yeyq, you played the better game, hope to play you again sometime. Very fun opening
  150. yeyq thank you, it very interesting, gg
