I'm quite impressed...

Glad to see there are others like me on here who dislike facebook and don't want to see it's privacy infringing junk cluttering up this beautiful site.

However using these type of sites outside of lichess to build the user base is a good idea. Good luck.
Please mention 960 aka frc aka fischer random also, so it can be found by anybody looking ot the same.
@71 : Lichess use Google Analytics so when you're on the site you're already tracked by Google in much more intrusive way than what a mere facebook button can ever achieve...
I don't see why a facebook iframe would not be able to collect just as much data.

Google Analytics, however, gives me useful stats like this one :

yup google analytics is usefull no doubt about it. Personnally I'm ok with that.

I'm just arguing with people who don't want "privacy infringing junk cluttering up this beautiful site" because google analytics also raises privacy concerns.

In fact for some people, Google Analytics raises more privacy concerns than Facebook : If you don't want to be tracked by Facebook, you just don't open an account there and FB won't gather much data about you. In the other hand, Google Analytics is way more wide-spread and it can match your navigation with your search requests.

@#5, when I searched "online chess" it was the second result on Chrome, and yet 4th on Firefox even though I'm using Google for both searches. However, that's not why I'm making this post. I have no idea how search result mechanics work but if this can somehow be corrected it would be helpful:

I tried searching a few differently worded ways of basically "free chess online" and for each one lichess pops up normally with the proper general description text...But for "online chess" as in the left screenshot you get an ominous forum posting snippet instead of official description text. That is a big no-no since first impressions matter and that's gotta be one of the top three searches.
