Hans and Magnus - who has the advantage for the next otb game?

I think they will face off this week in the Team Rapid and Blitz championship.
I think they will not face off in the team rapid/blitz, want to bet?

One or two times so far, Ian subbed in Magnus's board 1 position against Hans. Will that continue? Seems Magnus would like to be playing sometime.

I would definitely like to see them play each other.
Probably Hans, because there is always the probability that Magnus's immaturity will rear it's ugly ahead again.
He might throw another temper tantrum, and refuse to play.

If he plays, he will almost certainly win.

But who knows.
They are playing in the semis of the speed chess championship next month. Hard to imagine Magnus bailing on that. Chess.com is sending live observers to watch over every competitor so cheating is impossible. You'd think that with cheating absolutely impossible, Magnus would want to make a statement. Also, its a chess.com event.

Hans has proven he is legitimately super GM good at speed chess, knocking out Giri and Wesley, again with live observers. Still a huge underdog against Carlsen, but its likely to be interesting.

I was trying to be funny! This event has already happened, so why are you saying they might play? They did not, Magnus sat the round out and instead Nepomniachtchi replaced him. Maybe this cost them the gold.

They did win the blitz tournament. In rapid, the problem IMHO were poor results on the "amateur" (read: sponsor) board and also results of Hou Yifan (especially in contrast with Alexandra Kosteniuk).
Bc Magnus is acting like a child I hope Hans wins.
Without evidence it is absolutely pathetic how they are treating Hans for mistakes he made as a child.
Should we banish everyone on Earth for mistakes at age 13, 15? There are 25 and 35 yr old GMs cheating with money tournaments.

Magnus is a sore loser, he has even admitted it.
Hikaru is a bigger clown. Not that I like Hans but what they are doing to him is classless.

These young Asians will be sending Magnus and Hikaru to retirement in a few years. Hell Gukesh has already made it to the big boy table and he might not be the best in a few years from all the youth. Bc of their ability I do think Hans will have a hard time breaking top 10 in classical. And Keymer and Mishna and maybe Woodward could be a problem.

This young talent will make an interesting nxt decade or so of chess. Shame these grown men act like clowns.
