Do you prefer to play against weaker or stronger opponents than you?

The subject question sounds like do you prefer to play with younger players or older players. You never know who you are playing against and so you cannot assume because you won or lose the opponent was weaker or stronger. Like any permanent ratings, you need many games to establish a rating.
If it's an online tournament, then I prefer to play against stronger opponents: I can learn a lot from them and I can study that game every time I want. If it's an OTB tournament I prefer to play against weaker opponents: all I care about in an OTB tournament it's the win, so playing against weaker opponents it's better if you wanna win, even though I lost the count of how many people weaker than me have won against me.
I do not care much for the rating, it is more important that the game is interesting, that is even more important than winning or losing. And the chance that that happens is better with a player who is stronger, but the difference should not be too big. Sometimes it is possible to turn a game against a much weaker player in an interesting one by giving him one's queen quite at the beginning, for example. And sometime without that weaker players manage to win against me cause due to a lack of concentration I made a very bad mistake (or even more than one) ...
LOWER RATING I PREFER BECUSE SO YOU DONT LOSE YOUR RATING BUT GAIN LESS I OKAY OR PLAY JUST PLAY SIMILAR RATING
