Lately, I've been playing a lot of bullet, and noticed that I've dropped, a LOT. I would go up, then back down. From yesterday to today, I've went from 1840-1650, and suggestions and how to avoid this?
Pulling the plug earlier seems reasonable.
Yesterday I lost 124 bullet points. Today I gained 125.

Bullet is a lot about concentration because you have to evaluate a lot of positions in a short time. You need a good mental stamina to keep your playing ability at a certain level.
Most players I know have their ups and downs, if you care that much about rating follow the advice in #2 and sit on your rating. If that would be sensible is based on your priorities.
