They don't play it as a game but like if you lose you'll die ! And me I hate soccer I prefer martial arts.

Soccer is The Worlds #1 Sport
@CSKA_Moscou said in #3:
You can say that about any sport, but if you don't like it, you can't change your mind. In any case, what I like about football is the supportive and the family aspect, or loyalty to a collective (the club) which represents values beyond the sport. Regarding the sport itself, the rules of football are in my opinion the simplest to understand and memorize for such a collective and seemingly complex sport, which makes it easy to watch and play.

I can't stand it either, any time I have accidentally viewed any for a few seconds, there's some guy or other falling over, pretending to be hurt, then has another guy run on and put water on the supposed incapacitating injury and he proceeds to jump up immediately, and runs off, (what a load of utter garbage it has become, it was just garbage before, but they've worked on making it worse, and it shows), too much money involved probably. :).

It's cool but it's super overrated as if it were a religion.
@CSKA_Moscou said in #7:
I don't like the Club World Cup, the pitches look like those in FIFA Mobile and the format is too stereotypical, on the other hand the VAR needs to be improved, that's for sure.
@Noflaps said in #10:
The idea that football (the one actually played almost entirely with the feet -- not the other one) is not wonderful can be met with an easy, contradictory, one-word response:

Liverpool.

It's a good example of Parochialism.
Many people feel the need or primal desire to belong to a group then show angst towards other groups. Sports feeds this. So does much of the media. Divided we are easily controlled.

Did you get injured while playing?
@Noflaps said in #16:
I don't believe I'm being "controlled" because I greatly esteem Liverpool (both the football club and the city itself).

I am perfectly free to like another club or city better.

But why on Earth would I? I may not be young, but I'm still capable of comprehension!

bro soccer is the wrong name
we call it FOOTball and u know why?
bc u play it using ur FOOT, almost all the time
we also call handball handball bc u use ur hands
and basketball bc u need a basket for ur balls

But we have world cups 3 times in 4 years
@Gleb_Momot said in #28:
Yeah I agree with the VAR and World Cup.
VAR is looking for everything 1 second, and do a random decision, or checks an obvious decision.
Club World Cup has kinda the same format as UCL but they played like 2-3 matches, in the leaderboard stage, and done. Random teams got easy opponents and won with them, for example look for Real's way and like Chelsea's

@rishik14 It is not because you see the FIFA World Cup you like Football.

@rishik14 It is not because you see the FIFA World Cup you like Football.

football (the one played mostly with feet) WOULD be the best except for just ONE OTHER SPORT:

bicycle racing.

Don't believe me? Well, a wonderful, world famous bike race is going on THIS VERY MONTH!

Wanna talk athleticism? It's got it.

Wanna talk skill? It's got it.

Wanna talk courage? It requires it.

Wanna talk endurance? It owns it.

Wanna talk strategy? If you know, you know ....

Wanna talk some of the rarest, best cyclists in all history? Some of them are racing this very month.

Wanna talk scenery and beautiful, graceful podium ladies? Wanna talk good looking jerseys and outstanding equipment?

Just look and see.

Wanna talk some of THE BEST, most knowledgeable and witty commentators on the planet?

Easy response: Bob. Phil. And they aren't the only ones.

Yeah, football is terrific -- especially in Liverpool -- but France gives us the finest competition in all of sports, and it does it every freakin' year.

I can still remember LeMond flashing by. And the legendary Bernard Hinault. And, several times, Armstrong appearing invincible, almost without regard to terrain. I never got to see Merckx ride by -- and I can barely imagine how wonderful that would have been.

I did get to watch Mark Cavendish -- another of those who seemed close to superhuman and who could remind fans why they'll watch a race stage that takes hours, especially to see if an exciting finish among the best sprinters will get set up at the end.

I have to wonder if, in a prior lifetime, I was Basque or Belgian or French. Places where many people really know how to ride and appreciate the skill and beauty of riding.

I can still remember Reynolds 531 tubing, and shoes linked to the pedals with a metal framework and leather.

And know this: when a cyclist falls down -- he isn't faking it.

But yes, football is great, too. Really great.

Damn, don't forget golf, either.

Soccer is at least more entertaining than other sports, like baseball and golf, which, for me, become very hard to watch after a while. I think soccer is the best sport because, in my opinion, it is one of the only sports that doesn't require just sheer muscle, but also strategy, while providing good exercise and a nice game to watch.

I think Formula 1, is not very known as a sport, but as racing. But I like it because it's very simple, and you will understand it immediately, and every new day you discover something new from it. It requires a high level strategy, planned by hundreds of people. Everything is decided by seconds, hundreds to the second, and even thousands - 0.001. They travel around the world, on 5 continents, or even 6 per season. In some hard races like Singapore they race in conditions - 40C outside, 60C in the car, and it all at night. Drivers almost faint after the race. It's all is not complicated at all, because there is just 20 drivers, and 10 teams - 2 drivers per team working or battling together. There is 23 races per season usually, and each race top 10 drivers receive points. The most points per season - World Champion. For example in 2021 two drivers, 7 times World Champion, and new star, were battling for the championship and until the last race their points were exactly same.
I know it sounds a little boring, when my Dad told me about Michael Schumacher and others... I thought like - uhh i dont even care. but when he showed me the races, it became my favorite sport ever, so try it out to watch some races, or highlights
Its kinda cool not just as a sport but off scenes, it's even much better, so check out some CCs of this sport
