I hate Queen!

Chess originated in India and personally I feel the ancient Indian chess piece naming looks more interesting and gives the experience of a War while playing.
I like the Indian naming for Queen which is Minister / Commander
Chess is a war game ! 😊
Piece == South India == North India
King == King == King
Queen == Minister == Commander (chief)
Rook == Chariot == Elephant
Bishop == Elephant == Camel
Knight == Horse == Horse
Pawn == Soldier == Soldier

Interesting if share other naming in different countries.
I personally like the English nomenclature. In German, the bishop is a genderless 'sprinter' and the knight a stupid 'jumper' ...
In Brazil, (Portuguese), queen is called "Rainha". But some people call it "Dama".
In greek the bishop is called axiomatikos, an (army) officer. And there you have your military men, maybe you can even promote them to lieutenants or something. And there is still place for a woman on the board.
You don't need both horses and elephants.

In French (in France anyway), it's the opposite. The official name is 'Dame' but sometimes people call it 'Reine'
Nice information
