I'm hosting a "Master Simul" (Correspondence Chess) here on lichess! 50 FREE spots available!

Thanks for hosting this simul. I’m looking forward to seeing how our game plays out and how you do against your other challengers.

I checked out your chesspathyways.com site. I don’t usually sign up for most of the sites that offer ‘free’ stuff (I don't like the endless spamming/marketing), but I did sign up for your site. What made me decide to sign up? Well, a couple of things.

#1 - I watched your IBrag game analysis (#12) on chesspathways.com and enjoyed the way you commented on the game. It was really well done. You were actually aiming to convey a few important lessons/messages and not just bragging about how smart you are by highlighting how you would have played the game so much better (the difference between a good teacher that wants to teach and an omnipotent, pretend teacher that want to impress with their knowledge). I related to what you were saying in the analysis, as I too suffer from the same lack of looking at my opponents strategy/options and focusing on my own plans (but hey, don’t use that as insider information in our game). To sum it up, I was impressed and will be watching more of your videos.

#2 – I thought your offer to analyze games was quite generous. I came across your post – ‘Hey everyone! I'm a Master willing to help analyze players' games for free. Is anyone interested?’ – lichess.org/forum/game-analysis/hey-everyone-im-a-master-willing-to-help-analyze-players-games-for-free-is-anyone-interested?page=1 – and see that you're living up to your word!

I know it takes time and effort – and you’re willing to do it for free! I know that it also helps you to improve and provides fodder for your teaching, but it is generous none-the-less. I think of it as giving back, which is an indication of good character – which speaks for itself.

I tell people that to improve (learn) in any game, they should, a) play against people that are better than they are so that they can learn from their opponent – pretty straightforward; b) play against people that are equal to them so that they can really struggle – and in turn they will both strengthen; and c) play against people that are weaker than they are so that they can teach – therefore strengthening their understanding of the game and its fundamentals.

#3 – Your story about your struggle to improve at chess is similar to those I’ve heard many times and to many questions/comments I see posted. Seems like you’ve walked-the-walk and aren’t just talking-the-talk.

#4 – I saw your other challenge post – ‘I'm hosting a "BLITZ STREAK CHALLENGE" with a cash prize + more! Free to join!’ – lichess.org/forum/general-chess-discussion/im-hosting-a-blitz-streak-challenge-with-a-cash-prize--more-free-to-join?page=1 – and like that you’re actively getting out there, challenging others to excel, and encouraging them to get excited about their achievements.

#5 – Perhaps most importantly, you seem to have a positive attitude. I haven’t seen a rude comment from you – even when delivering some bad news, you’re still positive and upbeat (as an example – lichess.org/forum/general-chess-discussion/im-hosting-a-blitz-streak-challenge-with-a-cash-prize--more-free-to-join#10). Well done!
