Road to 2000 rapid

I am trying to reach 2000 rapid or classical rating by the end of the year. Could someone please look over my games and help find my weaknesses. I am currently aware that my openings are a weakness thT I am working on for example. Thank you. Any other advice is much appreciated
Hey @phoye I am too. Actually my goal is 1900 not even 2000 for now. We can analyse games together if you want, but actually the engine does a great job already and there is a feature on lichess which allows you to "find better moves" for bad moves in the game.

I viewed your last 10 lost games. My advice: NEVER put a knight on the side of the board (unless you attack a bishop for example). Try to avoid double pawns. Also try to avoid isolated pawns. You need to put more thought into the opening and the middle game. Think more about how exchanges affect your pawnstructure. Develop your minor pieces before going out with the rooks - that way they stay connected and safe until they are needed in the endgame. Get your Queen to an active place. Avoid capturing with the same piece again and again. This way only one piece of yours moves all the time. Captures can be used to improve the position of all pieces. Don't leave pieces hanging unless you can attack something with much more value or give check. Don't be too greedy. Sometimes being one pawn ahead is enough. If you capture all pawns on the Queenside with your Queen you also open up the files for the opponents rooks. Sometimes the pawns are not worth it. Put more consideration into it. Think it through. Also think about your opponents plans. Find the best move of your opponent. Not the one he would play due to his rating. Find his BEST response. This way you often wouldn't get mated by a knight or something like this...

Also my advice to you is to stop playing blitz games and solely focus on rapid games if you want to improve your rapid game rating.

I hope I could help you! My advice is free :) But yeah, I'm a beginner in real chess too, so you will need someone who is a lot better than me to teach you more.
-If you want to get better at Rapid/Classical, play more games in them! You only have 7 classical games played. Like, based on my experience at classical (our ratings are very similar), you could probably be very close to 2000 if you just played 20 or 30 games and stabilized your rating. But even if not, make a point of playing at least one game of classical and/or rapid each day, or as near as you can manage. Analyze your games. Go through them, move by move and try to figure out where things went wrong by yourself. Only then check the engine lines.

-Do lots of tactics practice. Get into a habit of doing, say, 5 puzzles at the start of each session. Give yourself 5 minutes to try to solve each one.

-Opening theory is not a good place to invest your time. If you have a couple of openings that you are solid with, that's probably good enough. Better to invest your time in tactics training, game analysis. And endgames. Endgames are much more important on long time control games. One thing you may wish to do is use the analytics tools to check which openings are actually working for you ("What are the win rates of my favorite openings as white/black"). If something you play fairly frequently stands out as something you're doing poorly in, you might want to do a bit of targeted theory work, or just drop that line.

-Use all of your time. With 10 or more minutes, you can spend a good deal of time on every move to make sure that it is right and you aren't leaving a piece hanging or whatever. Usually whomever uses more time wins. Turn on move confirmation so you never mouse slip.

Hi @LaserGuy @schachschachschach

Thank you so much for the feedback. It is much appreciated. I will keep you posted as I continue to strive towards my goal. If you would like to play a game or two then drop me a challenge :) could be fun!
@phoye I'm also trying, in vain, to get to 2000 in rapid. I have been focussing on this goal for the past six weeks when my rating seemed to settle a little after a period of extreme volatility. Unfortunately, for me progress has been like a game of snakes and ladders. I'm currently going through the woodpecker method by Axel Smith et al. and I am going through Marc Esserman's book on the Smith Morra because I play that a lot on here. I don't use a board but make notes or write down the solutions with variations if I see them. The aim is to get to 2000 rapid on lichess and then play classical chess only and also carry on with what I am doing as well as continue with my daily bits and bobs on Chessable. If I can spend 90 minutes a day on what is a hobby I should see some more improvement. But I'm having fun so no matter. Good luck with reaching your goal. I'm the last person you want looking at your games!
I also have a same goal, i just started playing rapid and classical chess, i can already say that, i enjoy both of them much more than blitz or bullet.

actually i enjoy rapid the most, because in classical there are lots of cheaters, their playing style changes dramatically in midgame or endgame...
