Hi
Sometimes, when I am training, I can't understand why a move is the best one.
E.G in
lichess.org/training/63272 It is certainly because I don't see something.
How can we have more explanations to understand ?
What about a forum section for this ?
In fact this is an example where it is like there’s only one legal move for Black... at least for me.
Expose yourself to a lot of chess content and you don’t need any words. Just moves.
Nxe4 attacks the queen and threatens fork on f2, plus there's a discovered with a bishop to h1, so white has to time to recapture the knight when it moves away. As a result, white gains two pieces and a pawn for a rook. Something like that.
It has been suggested for a comment section for each puzzle, to appear after the puzzle is attempted. I agree that this element would be a good addition, if we could avoid certain comments. Other than the obvious restriction, I would suggest that no names be used so that would reduce lines being repeated in different posts.
Chess puzzles are often looking for the computer move and piece advantage. Whilst there may be other solutions if you play it though 99% of the time its right. (bare in mind sometimes its just a positional or piece advantage win us mere mortals at fun level will rarely grasp as a win further on)
If there is no mate, exchanging a rook for 2 minor pieces or the queen for 2 rooks is "generally" accepted for the puzzles
Warning, bragging post incoming!
I've actually made a study on a few puzzles in which I explain my thought process, maybe it could be of any help?
Best of luck with the puzzles though!
Whites can play 14. fxg5 and I can't see why this move is wrong.
So, the exchange is one rook against a pawn and 2 minor pieces, 6/6 wins nothing and blacks are better in my opinion.
My question was more general, and I suggest that more moves and/or comments can be added in some puzzles.
