anyone else permit takebacks for others, not for themselves?

dumb-sh*t question............ i figure it's like not asking for directions. about half the time i'll allow tb's... even when it's obviously just a dumb-sh*t move and not even remotely a mouse slip......... i basically never ask for the same in return. i just had a mouse slip; was going to castel. slip.... whatever, mon. i lost eventually, i think... i think it's a dumb_sh*t macho thing on my part.
My rule of thumb is if you make a move and ask for a takeback straight away then it's a mouse slip, so I'll allow the takeback. If you ask for a takeback after 30 seconds or after I make a move it's a misplay which is too bad.
I never allow takebacks, and I have only asked for a takeback ONCE.
I always allow takebacks as I believe in my skills/position, and this could be used as a learning opportunity.

There are some who misuse this option. I still grant the request, but this practice wears on my patience and is one of the factors of restricting my pleasure in the game.
Whats frustrating is whenever you allow a takeback when your opponent obviously blundered, then they reject your takeback for an obvious mouse slip
Okay so heres the problem I got. Occasionally I will be playing an unrated match with someone 2300+ (this has happened more than five times btw) where they are crushing me in blitz like 5-1 or 7-0 some big score against me. And they will blunder and ask for a takeback. I accept the takeback being a nice person then 10 moves later I blunder and ask for a takeback they decline. lol..... I am like you hung your queen and I accepted a takeback you should do the same for me especially when I am getting crushed over here anyway.

So I have since disabled all takebacks so this no longer happens. I suggest you do the same so you are not tempted to accept.
I ask and allow takeback in cases where it is obvious was a mouse slip. Sometimes both players want know how the game will go finish... Yes, believe it or not, some people like chess, not just win rating points! But, when it is obvious it was not a mouse slip, when I know the real intention of my opponent, no takeback!
Again, the takeback is not by mercy, it is because when I fight against a good player, I dont want win by mouse slip, of course... It is just a online game, for funny, for test my onwn skills, etc.. In any moment I would back to 1500 and reach my natural rating again, in this case, WHY worry about won or lost rating points? Make sense, no?
If it's an obvious mouse slip I allow take backs. However, a number of players have asked for a take back just because they played a lousy move. I've never asked for a single take back even when I have made a mouse slip. I figure if I make a fingerfehler it's my problem, not my opponent's.
it seems quite common in blitz at least, for guys to immediately ask for a TB on obvious non-slips, but just dumb-sh*t moves. i'll allow them if i'm in a good mood and it's early in the game, or what not. but ------- i think i grant more TB's on dumb *ss moves... i don't see slips very often. it's mostly impulsive moves they immediately regret.
